Sports unite us in a shared celebration of ability, talent and skill. But, when athletes cannot gather and compete as they used to because of COVID, these things still remain. Our original showcase event is no longer possible due to COVID, but the mission of this event has never been more important: to provide tuition support for future leaders at Pius XI. This year, families received more than $2.6 million in support.
For the 2021 Popes Invitational (formerly the Hank Raymonds Classic) Presented by MacGillis Wiemer, LLC, Pius XI Catholic High School will host a virtual showcase online. From January 4th through the 9th, W7 Productions will be streaming stories that highlight the opportunity, ability, talent and skill found within athletes and throughout the community, including the stories of coaches and athletes who would have participated as well as sharing stories of the impact of support on Pius XI students and The Ability Center.
This virtual event will continue to provide opportunity through education for students with limited financial ability at Pius XI as well as support The Ability Center’s efforts to make Milwaukee more accessible to people with disabilities. **Your tax-deductible video event sponsorship will be used to support the current or urgent needs of families experiencing joblessness, health crises, or other hardship, and 25% of proceeds will support The Ability Center’s efforts to make Wisconsin Ave. Park accessible to people with disabilities.
Video Stories Include:
Catholic Memorial's Alyssa Nimz + the McGlothlin Family
Brookfield Central's Daugherty Family
Appleton East’s La Chapell Family
Pius XI Coaches and Scholars
The Ability Center
